I'm Christopher De Vries. I once was an astronomer, and wrote my doctoral dissertation on star formation at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I went on to do postdoctoral work at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and went on to become a tenured professor at California State University Stanislaus before giving it all up to become a reclusive hermit... I mean programmer.
For work I tend to program the sort of web application systems that are currently in vogue. I pay special attention to getting servers to play nice with one another. In my spare time I tend to program small microcontrollers to make lights blink on and off, hopefully in assorted and interesting colors. In between I hope no one realizes that both these activities are actually the same thing.
I am available for consulting in cloud architecture solutions, systems integration, and any python wizardry that may need... wizarding. To get in touch please send an email to consulting (at) idolstarastronomer dot com.
